Spent around 22 revives trying to complete Act 6 Cap IW with Crit me with your best shot about 3 years back with 5* R2 Killmonger. Ended up quitting out of the quest due to frustration.
I spent 5 k units (on 3 different ocassions) against pre nerf the champion and quitted out. Finally defeated him after first nerf with sym sup.
I started the game Week 1…before Masteries. So I learned how to play the game just blocking attacks/taking chip damage and hopefully outlasting the opponent, which meant every single time 2-star/3-star Colossus or Iron Man gained an Armor Up in Story Mode or Arena, I wanted to scream.
Not ashamed to admit I had to watch Dork Lessons’ tutorials on Dexing and Intercepting multiple times to unlearn those habits, and while I have always been amazed at what the Content Creators have done to increase knowledge about this game and kits and how to fight bosses, there is nothing I can imagine that was more crucial that those Dork Lessons tutorials.
I couldn’t agree with you more, I’m also a fellow week one player- and I remember that also. I’m so glad they added the masteries, and I no longer had to just keep hitting a brick wall when a champion had an armor up.
LOLOL People today will never know how terrifying it was to see a 3-star proc Fury or Armor Up 10 years ago

I’d have much rather had the armor up prock, I’d be in the fight forever sure- but when fury came up? A few good hits into my block and I’m dead. We have certainly come quite a long way.
First AQ i jumped into(early 2018). I had no idea about nodes. It was probably map 4 at the time. I wasted so many revives and units trying to take down the first mini boss haha.
Started playing in 2014 and didn't get my first 4 star until July 2015. So excited even though it was OG Cap Marvel. There weren't shards back then, so you had to grind for crystals. Anyway, the noob part is that most of us thought the reel mattered. I'd sit there and try to time the tap when I saw the gold border.
I remember OG willpower and how it made champs like Black Panther useless in arena because your opponent regened for each stack of bleed.
Using spidey or IF in arena was terrible. Had to time the sp2 to just below 3 bars, and hope it a) got the KO, or b) got them low enough the sp 1 had a shot to do so. Or just quit the fight.
In very early wars, getting impatient waiting for nodes to drop as every dang node was linked. Thinking you know what, I got this and proceeded to take on opponents without reading nodes. Went okay until I ran into a particular combination of nodes along the bottom paths. Anybody think they know what it was? Well they combined to give your opponent all 3 power bars full at the start of the fight. Ko'd pretty quickly. Lol
When I first got this game, I remeber really wanting spiderman and the first champ I got.... was Hawkeye. And then whenever I got my first 2*, I really wanted spidey since I still didn't have him and got.... Hawkeye. And then my first 3*, after hoping for spidey was.... hawkeye. Long story short, Hawkeye carried me thru the entire first 3 acts in story and I still didn't have spidey. But hey I finally got him yesterday lol, oh and I totally r3 my Hawkeye cuz of that experience.
Hawkeye the goat, I always thought he’s an underrated champion
In AW the champs on defensive nodes used to be hidden. I invested in unlocking four of the six classes of the Scouter Lens mastery that allowed you to see what class nearby defenders were, and then make an educated guess on who was placed on a node. Wish I had those units back….
Back in the day around 2017, Thor Ragnarok just came out in theatres and when I saw the movie the cinemas actually played an ad for mcoc which made me download the game in the first place, much to my chagrin the movie I thought was really good did not correlate to the game, Thor Ragnarok sucked and still does, his animations and kit all stink for me, but I liked the game enough to keep playing and here I am 7 years later

When heimdall arrived in the game, he had a node of power gain and he would start with 2 bars of power. Every time i would enter in a fight, he would immediately fill all 3 bars and spam a sp3 right on my face, knocking me out. It happened so many times, i threw away my phone in frustration.
When sasquatch was launched, there was a side quest where he would arrive as an ambush. He had such strong regen(my champs were of lower rarity) that anytime he would pop out as ambush, i used to quit the quest.

Honeslty looking back I never truly appreciate how goated he was, dude was able to control every fight back then. And I also rember praising Cap WW2 back then cuz man would take no block damage, yea some fights were long but I never really had to worry about dexing or parrying lol.
Back in day maybe og remembers it, mephisto was pain in the a$$ sp3 spam like i was a noob i didn't know about how to make him throw sp1 or 2 and not having incinerate immune champs you couldn't stand near him

I actually started playing when sassy came out. Weird times lol. I remember spending 300 units (the horror) on the vtd gm crystal and got 3* vtd and I used him for so long. Fast forward 2 years and I start playing again after losing my previous phone (and account), and here I am now, with 7*s of both of the champs that released when I started. I've come a long way lol.

So, for about one year I trully though that Arenas was against real people.
