New Challengers Approaching - Carina Challenge Experience

Long post (first one got taken down)…

Here to share my experience using the 10 year champions for carina challenge. My team consisted of r2 wong (unawakened), r5 Ironheart, r5 Photon, r1 Wiccan (sig20) and r3 cheeilth (sig50).

I’ve only done easy path in necro so this challenge gave me a chance to do another path and I chose Mr.F and Apoc. This is how each fight went:

Mr F- cheeilth (2 revives): once you get 10 spirit charges, those bleed really start ramping up. Cheeilth made this fight fun but you just had to be careful about being too close to the walls so I mainly used sp2 unless I was in the middle of the map and constantly used mediums.

Namor - IH (2 revives ): IH with at least 30 debuffs starts melting. His specials are easy to evade and when he becomes unblockable it was really easy to block with minimal damage block damage.

Attuma - IH (7 revives): Thorn damage was crazy but IH debuffs did the job. I thought her mediums were non-contacts but I was proven wrong but her backup heal was clutch and I tried to keep Attuma to sp1 then only mediums to avoid unnecessary damage.

Air walker - Wiccan (10 revives): This was agonising and painful with Wiccan. I tried wong in the beginning but air walker and his armour breaks plus his dark tide was doing a lot of damage so resulted in using Wiccan. Those incinerate/shocks/plasma really helped a lot but passive ai and constant power gain will always be a bad combo. Parry-heavy was the way to go unless he was close to gaining his buff then I’d just recklessly heavy and hope he doesn’t counter.

Cap.Brit - IH (6 revives): I initially tried to use wong but reverse controls got me many times then remember IH reverse immune. She did it in 2 revives. Stacking those incinerates was easy then just parry-heavy to remove prowess and sp1 to continuously to pause the debuffs and melt her health.

Wiccan - Photon (6 revives): Wiccan just didn’t wanna throw specials and pushed to sp3 a lot. This was photon only place to shine and she did it really well. Idk why I forgot she’s neutralise immune so I didn’t parry in my first couple tries to prevent any incinerate debuff. I usually kept him to sp1 and after rushed in to place her petrify to reverse his heal.

Psycho man - Cheeilth (7 revives): tried wong but concussions hindered my ramp but Cheeilth was surprisingly great here as she cleansed the power lock and sp3 to heal the block damage. I acc didn’t have high hopes for her but she did really well and made psycho man look easy.

Apoc - IH (4 revives): self-explanatory. Heavy to remove prowess and stack those debuffs. She took barely any block damage even with 1 armour up. I kept mainly to mediums and maybe 1 light between to keep up the ruptures and gain armour ups and sp1 to pause the debuffs.

Tigra - IH (5 revives): getting clipped and passive ai was the worst here. She really didn’t throw specials and when she did I was usually dashing in. I made the mistake of using photon thinking that 50% miss wouldn’t be too bad but I missed almost 100% of the time so ofc IH did the heavy lifting since she bypasses miss with 5+ debuffs.

Hercules - Cheeilth (4 revives ): Cheeilth is very tanky and loves to stack those bleeds. Wong would’ve been great here but unfortunately he’s unawakened and with nodes prompts plus indestructible it made using wong difficult. So next best thing is anyone champ with DOT effects who’s tanky and doesn’t have class disadvantage.

Falcon - wong (1 revive): Wong. I initially used cheeilth thinking falcon isnt bleed immune but more armour ups = less chance of bleeds plus the autoblock on specials. This was where wong shined the brightest. If the timer/clock thing didn’t reach I could’ve soloed but oh well. It was also my first time using wong so I was happy with the results. Once he ramped up those heavy into sp2 were unblockable making things easy against falcon.

Dragon man - IH (3 revive): debuff stacking and much easy to control his power gain. Wong was my go to but he kept getting critical hits which made Dragonman stun immune so I couldn’t get rid of the power gain and took a sp3. Turned to IH and stacked her incinerates. I kept to mediums and sp1 and she rarely got critical hits so I was able to remove his power gain more frequently.

CapIW - Cheeilth (3 revive): class advantage and not bleed immune. I tried wong again but the glance into concussion made building his spells much harder. Cheeilth mainly cleansed the concussion so I had no issues plus spirit charge increasing bleed potency only problem was those glances from time to time.

Nova - Wong (2 revive): could’ve done in 1 revive but kept heavy into sp2 which did so damage compared to a straight sp2. I didn’t realise or know why nova was reducing my damage but it was much easier than I initially thought and wong’s specials puts a lot of distance between you and the defender.

GM- (3 team revives) MVP: Cheeilth. Cheeilth really did amazing her. Apart from landing a lot of critical hits making me gain blunders it was easy to manger her especially during phase 3 reverse controls. Once I got GM to wounded phase she wasted no time in getting him to phase 4. Then Wiccan finished off.

For sure we know the value of wong he’s great for all fights but for this tag there were surprisingly gd alternatives. IH was MVP for sure once you get 30+ incinerates they really do melt the opponents plus her awakened ability to health when below 15% saved me a lot. Then cheeilth with potent bleeds and sp3 heal made fights a lot easier. Overall, I heavily relied on champ with a lot or really potent DOT effects to beat champs and it worked really well.

How was you able to maintain 30+ debuffs with ironheaet considering her sp1 only pauses it for 8 sec?

Sentinel relic allows ironheart a chance to pause incinerates for 3.5 seconds on basics attacks so incinerates are paused for 11.5 seconds

That’s true I just read the relic now. I’m not too sure how but constant mediums and only using sp1 allowed me to stack high amounts of incinerates/ ruptures.
