Am I just straight wrong or is Banquet not as bad as many are saying?

I keep seeing people talk about Banquet like it's the absolute worst event to ever exist in the history of the game (perhpas a smaal over exaggeration by me) but I flat out disagree! I'm a Valiant player, explored all story missions besides 9.1 and have done 2 paths in Necropolis, so not some newbie to the game. I did however save about 20K units throughout the year

The Banquet crystals, I agree, are bad. But that's kind of where my complaints start and end, the milestones in Solo, Alliance, and Realm have given great rewards. I love the Glorious Guardians keys they gave out and how they work, aswell as the slew of rank up materials and champion related items.

I don't feel like any of my units were wasted, I see the Banquet crystals mostly as supplemental extras to the guaranteed event rewards

Feel free to disagree, but I'd love to hear some opinions on why the rewards we got weren't worth tha 15K units put in

I completely agree with the community complaining about the SBCs being trash as they didn't really give me much however the milestones were amazing (coming from a valiant).

I spent 9k units and it gave me a r3, 4 r2s and 7 7 stars. In cyber weekend 9k units would have gotten me 2 r2s and maybe 3 7 stars.

So although the SBCs were just straight garbage, banquet on a whole was a decent event. The only reason why the community sees it as complete trash is because kabam overhyped it by saying cavs will have r3s.

Community see it as trash because you’d have to be on the higher end of the spending (9-16k units) to see any benefit for higher progression. I think the ones who hated the event the most were lower spenders who relied on the crystals to provide the rewards for their units because they wouldn’t hit much of the significant rewards in the milestone.

Objectively it wasn’t bad except the unit spend increased. If you had 15k, the rewards were worth it.

The problem was that the hype and false expectations of the crystals soured the thing for anyone under that. If they would have straight up told everyone “crystals aren’t going to have useless junk like tier 2 alpha, but unless you have insane luck, they aren’t account changing in and of themselves. The milestones are where the value is.”…. That would have went a long way to keep the community on board. Instead we got absurd 10th anniversary hypefests in the livestreams - banquet tickets for months that fed into the crystal hype, etc.

Add onto that the perspective that banquet last year was faceplant. Before that we had ending iterations of gifting…. And lower accounts are reaping in rewards that make title progression pointless. In all, the banquet has the distinct quality of being a let down now for years based on expectations.

It might make sense to save 15k for milestones vs cyber if you want… you got a little more value this year. But the community needs to get their head adjusted on banquet ever being awesome with tons of crystal fun. If they didn’t turn it loose on the 10th anniversary- it ain’t ever happening .

That's exactly I feel. Last year, I was TB and didn't get much help to progress form 40 crystal and milestones, mostly 6* sig stones.

Guaranteed rewards don't give dopamine. The crystal pulls do. And when the crystal pulls are bad, the entire mood goes down.

Crystals were obviously garbage unless you got lucky, but milestones with the added realm event were pretty good overall.
I've done a few new rankups since banquet started, and still have my 2-3 generic gem, my class gem we just got and 6 t4a (started with 4) chilling for later.

A couple new r2's, a couple new r3's and more than enough in my inventory to do more if I choose to.

Those crystals though.... 😰

I had to spend 10k on 2 KG pieces which allowed me only ~3k for Banquet. The crystals were trash and I barely got some of the milestones. The only one maxxed out is Alliance Banquet. Hence, my dissatisfaction.

These rage threads are also filled with players who spent 3k units and thought they are going to get 69 r3 champs on day 1. I sympathies with the frustration of players who spent 10-15k units.

Crystals are bad? They definitely are.
But every single gifting-banquet event in the past, the crystal were bad. I dont trust rng events. But The milestones are worth it this time.

Personally, I did extremely well on rewards, with the highlights being 7* Jessica Jones, 8x T4A, a crapload of new 7* champs (including 2 Titans with a 3rd coming soon.)

With this being my 2nd banquet, if I have any complaints at all it's that the event is just kinda boring; Spending thousands of units and then waiting for literal days to be rewarded just isn't fun. I know they gotta stretch it out, but I feel like it's a huge missed opportunity for actual holiday themed content and activities beyond just spending.

Yeah personally I've never had any issues with banquet events, I've always thought they've given out great stuff. I just got valiant last month and spent about 13k units this banquet and got 4 7* champs to rank 3 and a bunch of good new 7*s so I see it as a win and very good growth for my account.
