BG meta seems awkward this season?

So I decided to go in for some pre season games, just to fine tune my roster ahead of the season start, but I don’t think I’m going to bother much with BGs this time around.
I mean all I’ve discovered is that if you fill your deck with non-tactic defenders you’re much better off than playing into the tactic. The pool of champions that can counter both poison and incinerate is very small (literally only Rulk, Emma Frost and purify champs come to mind), combined with the threat of defenders like Bullseye, Serpent, Deathless Thanos (although he is a tactic defender so slightly easier to deal with) and you have a really punishing season.
I mean I understand the basic concept, a decay based season that ties in with the saga pool, with the incentive to use these champs given by hazard shift. But unless fighting against a tactic defender, or using Titania/Silk, you’re basically just fighting hazard shift.
Maybe I just suck and I’ve got all the wrong champions ranked up for the meta, but this one doesn’t seem fun or “intended” (in the sense that we’re all just using non tactic defenders to completely shut down decay). Definitely less coherent than previous metas, I’d like to see how this one develops and hear peoples tips and tricks so far.

Also, I just wouldn't worry too much about having both covered. Just blast away.
