Deathless Necropolis Carina Challenge Experience (With heavy reliance on Thanos)

Hey everyone, to add to the list of summoner experiences with this challenge, I thought I’d give my take on it all and before the challenge I made sure to put in plenty of practice with Thanos as I knew that I’d be using him for most of the challenge.

Champions
* 7r2 Guillotine (Deathless) Sig 0
* 7r2 King Groot (Deathless) Sig 60
* 7r2 Vision (Deathless) Sig 20
* 7r2 She-Hulk (Deathless) Sig 20
* 7r3 Thanos (Deathless) Sig 0
Path P1
* Titania. 0 Revives. She-Hulk Solo. Bait out her first haymaker ability so that you can start to build up your traumas safely and then once she reaches a special you can consistently get your grit passive to deal with her unstoppable. Rush to 2 sp3s so that traumas last longer and go for sp2s for the most damage. Can use heavy to inflict fear debuff however I only made use of this once her charges got low enough which made her specials inflict root.
* Vision Aarkus. 0 Revives. Guillotine Solo. Even without having her awakened ability I still left this fight with 90%+ health. Only go for sp1 and play aggressively, his charges got down to about 25 but my relic was a 3 star so in hindsight should’ve changed that so I charged spirit meter faster and didn’t have to cut it so close.
* Omega Sentinel. 0 Revives. Thanos Solo. Build up necrotic energy to 30 and then heavy as early as possible to inflict armour break and shatter then build up your future making full use of counterpunches. Once at 8 furies only go for sp3 unless your furies fall off or you need healing from the genesis passive from sp1, otherwise a pretty standard thanos fight.
* Air-Walker. 0 Revives. Thanos Solo. Follow the same strategy as Omega Sentinel but use heavies more often so that he gets knocked down and doesn’t gain his galactus buff. You can bait either of Air-Walker’s special attacks but just ensure that you block the second hit of his sp1.
* Captain Britain. 0 Revives. Vision 20%, Thanos 80%. Started with vision but wasn’t the biggest fan of his damage even though it was safe, got clipped by her sp1 with him. Then went in with thanos and always pushed Captain Britain to her sp2, make sure to create good distance between you and her when she throws her sp2 as it’s inverted controls, otherwise follow the same strategy as used on Omega Sentinel and Air-Walker.
* Wiccan. 1 Revive. She-Hulk for the whole fight. Try make sure that She-Hulk is fully healed going into this fight as you’ll inevitably get inflicted with incinerates which is how I died first time. Use her sp1 to reverse the healing and bait Wiccan’s sp1. Overall an easy fight just annoying with his incinerate.
* Psycho-Man. 0 Revives. Thanos 50%, King Groot 50%. Ensure that you complete the required prompts in time as it does hurt a lot if you don’t. Died with Thanos as I got clipped by Psycho-Man’s sp2 whilst unblockable, was following the same strategy as previous Thanos fights and a solo is definitely possible with him. King Groot finished off, get up to 10 permanent armour breaks on Psycho-Man then use sp2, loads of damage and heavy to keep uptime on the incinerate. Not a horrible fight overall.
Path P2
* Guardian. 0 Revives. Thanos Solo. Very easy fight, follow the same strategy as all previous Thanos fights and you’re in for an easy time, ideally bait his sp1 but no problem if you bait sp2, just a bit riskier and more block damage as you want to utilise counterpunch at the end of each of the opponents specials.
* Valkyrie. 1 Revive. Vision Solo. Revived and healed up vision for this fight, it’s a long one but you often sit at around 4/5 phase charges throughout the fight so you are very safe. Ideally hit into her block every so often so that she gets a pierce passive which means her specials will use up power but with Vision’s synergies she was draining power anyways after using a special, unsure if this interaction was intended but no complaints that it was that way. Long fight due to his damage being not amazing but once at max ramp he was enjoyable.
* Red-Guardian. 0 Revives. She-Hulk Solo. Nothing too special about this fight, same strategy as Titania fight, just ensure that when breaking his shield do so with a relic or special attack to avoid being stunned, and utilise her heavy to gain power without depleting shield charges and in his third phase to inflict fear and prevent his unblockable. Just remember that when you’re unblockable in the third phase to not hit into his block if his shield is active as that will break it and stun you.
* Captain America (Sam Wilson). 0 Revives. Thanos Solo. Again same strategy as every previous Thanos fight, try not to hit into his block but if you do don’t stress as the rupture damage isn’t high at all. Bait only his sp1 and you’ll be safe. Easy fight overall.
* Dragon-Man. 0 Revives. She-Hulk Solo. Same strategy as all previous She-Hulk fights, ideally use sp2 to inflict the wither to counteract his power gain but I got lucky with the ai as he was very aggressive with his special usage.
* Captain America (Infinity War). 0 Revives. Thanos Solo. Nothing special about this fight either, normal Thanos rotation which I’ve done in all other fights with him. About a 5 minutes smooth fight.
* Nova. 2 Revives. Thanos 70%, She-Hulk 30%. Same rotations that have previously been discussed with these champions. Could’ve got the solo with Thanos but got clipped by a special early, revived up and got clipped early again then finally had a good run with him down to 30% in which I just finished with She-Hulk.
Boss Fight
* Grandmaster. 15-20 Revives. Used everyone. Phases 1 and 2 were all okay and got him down to phase 3 with only Thanos, after getting his armour break on the grandmaster all of his hits in wounded phase were hitting damage cap. The issues started in the 3rd phase where I kept using team revives as I kept getting clipped by his heavy when having to parry him, it was 1am when I was doing this so take these frustrations with a grain of salt, if you played this fight after a break from the rest of the path and not at that time then I’d imagine you’d get through it much more smoothly than I did. Phase 4 was soloed by Vision due to his reverse control immunity and not being penalised for having this immunity unlike phase 3.
Final Comments
I’d make sure to practice with Thanos a lot in content like realm of legends which is where I mastered his rotation and understanding of his abilities. I know that most others didn’t utilise him as much due to not understanding his abilities fully but he wipes out most of his fights in 5/6 minutes without much difficulty which is very refreshing after some of the more annoying fights like Titania, Vision and Valkyrie. As for grandmaster, he’s not horrendous but I just made the irresponsible stubborn decision to continue with the path at the time I did because I was too far committed, so if you have any more self control than I do, I’d advise doing that fight at a reasonable time of the day to avoid the slip ups that I made. Best of luck and I promise that the duplicate is worth it, for both offence and defence. Enjoy Summoners!
