He's actually the only attacker who not only has beaten my R3 duped Sentinel in BG, but put up a 50k-ish score.
#Decay vs. #Sugar Pill helped, but it hasn't helped any of the other #Decays who've fought Sentinel.

Need awakening ability for attack?

He gets Death Immunity. It's really a bigger benefit for him as a defender, but it will help if you're about to lose as an attacker.

Currently I have Medusa, Hyperion, Hulkling, CGR, Venom and now Serpent who are not awakened and I have 1 cosmic AG which I was saving for Hercules.
Should I put it in Serpent then?
I will be getting a generic AG from the SQ this month.

I guess it depends on the type of content you play and your current progression level and what your near-term goals are in the game. Serpent is a great attacker but he truly shines as a defender in battlegrounds or alliance war. If you don't play those formats and will only use him as an attacker, I would say awaken one of your other cosmics. You'll still be able to use Serpent just fine without the awakening.

Serpent is a good attacker, his ramp up takes way too long for BGs, but he's good everywhere else.

Are you saying all 6s are obsolete? Then why say rank up Herc, isn't that pointless to you according to your logic?
Or are you just saying only the 6s like Serpent that are available as 7s are obsolete? And if that's what you're saying, why are you assuming everyone who has the 6 Serpent will get the 7 too, and if not, how does the 7 being available make the 6 useless on its own?

I am saying to rank up Herc, Hulkling, Nimrod as 6* because Kebem is stingy and won't release them as 7* for long time and they're actually broken heroes,

But what if you don't have Serpent as a 7, but want or need to use him and have him as a 6?
You can't just assume you'll get him as a 7, much less dupe him.

Sure but he's much better as a 7 Star especially in BGs. He's a good counter to techs like Sentinel and FAM

Just because he is available as a 7* doesnt mean you are getting him as one. The exception is if Kabam releases a guaranteed 7* pathway like CMM and Sinister or the 10 7*s that came out last month. He is also today the #1 defender in the game, mass releasing him as a 7* will spell disaster for the game.

I have wanted a 7* Bishop for ages and he was in the first batch of 7*s to be released. Im the end i r5'ed my 6* nearly 6 months ago.

Serpent is a good attacker but his damage is slow to ramp up and has a ceiling in max damage that is lower than a lot of preferred battleground attackers. He has tremendous utility and the death immunity is up there with Herc (though Herc is better) making him a safe option to take into a quest battle even with 10% health remaining. Worth the rank up for attack and #1 defender. If you get him as a 7* later, then its unfortunate but i think worth the effort if you dont have Herc right now.

Remember, 6* resources barring r5 are not difficult to get now. Even r5 is not difficult but i would rather use that on my 7*s

Finally, someone who understands this basic logic. Holding off on ranking a 6 just because a 7 version exists ignores the uncertainty of ever obtaining, duping, and high-sigging the 7, leaving you weaker in the meantime for an upgrade that may never come.

But maybe these people spend tons of money and can just have all the 7s they want and max them all up?
I just don't think that's a reality for most players. Most of us have limited resources and limited options.

For example, should I not have maxed my 6 Sinister because the 7 exists? Well, I'm glad I did because he gets me plenty of wins against 7R3 meta defenders in BG today. If I end up getting the 7 somehow, I won't be upset. I have plenty of other 7 mutants to compete for my limited 7R3 resources.

Yeah serpent is a great sentinel counter but he does wayy better in defense (best defender in game) and too slow for bgs. He is definitely my cosmic mvp outside bgs.
