Incredible Lag on Notification

I recently bought an iPhone 8, and upon downloading marvel on it I have noticed that whenever I get a notification I start to lag incredibly causing me to lose the fight, pretty much in every instance. I’m running the latest iOS and have the game updated. I simply can’t mute every single notification just to play a game. Was wondering if it is happening to anyone else? Just on notifications. Was also wondering if kabam is aware of the problem.
