I’ll wait until all the inevitable bugs with this content drop are fixed 😅,..and maybe wait for a path guide.

I have just enough revives to make it to greet ares and quit out

    Lmao "hi and bye"

I might actually have to find a way to plug Wonder Woman herself into this fight 😂

I'm not the best MCOC player, and I just spent all my revives on completing all the AOA Gauntlet objectives, so I'm probably gonna get to farming revives before attempting this. Also gotta wait for the goat MCOC Noob to drop a guide before jumping in, those guides have helped me save so much time and effort

Oh boy, time to make more guides! Also got 450 free crystals so this should be fun.

    Go get it Grootman.

I guess we never learn; the mere fact we're assuming that it's just going to start tomorrow without hella bugs is pretty optimistic.
I foresee 30 threads this weekend titled "Compensation for Ares Bug Disaster!!"
I think I will wait and let you heroes dip your toes in first before sacrificing all my revives; I'm not in the habit of using 100 revives to clear content. That's not playing, that's just spending...

same imma wait till the tide clears. I can see in 6 yrs. 10* Thanos endgame solos Epoch of pain in 5 mins world record.(MSD Jr.)(Or hairful Grant)(HairMCOC)
I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I myself initially got excited about this content and started hoarding revives to just revive my way through it. But on reflection, burning 100 revives to clear content like everyone here is bragging about doing isn't an achievement, it's just validating the game's encouragement of resource spending over skill.

If a challenge is designed well, it should be possible to clear it with skill, strategy, and maybe a few revives, not a hoarded stockpile.

If you need all these revives just to finish one quest, it encourages bad game design.

And when Kabam sees that players are willing to throw massive revive stacks at every new challenge, they have zero incentive to change how they design these challenges in the first place.

It's basically a spending party, and we all get "LEGEND" tags at the end.
Who spent 100 revives on content?? I didn't even use that many for my Necropolis run with Aegon 😂
I really think people are overblowing this. The path fights are all things we’ve seen (and many of us soloed) before. Slight tweaks, but nothing wildly out of band. Realistically, I think an average player with the appropriate roster could get through a path in 5-10 revives.

The first run against Ares, especially for people going in blind… that’s gonna be tough. Could definitely see it going for anywhere from 10-20 as you learn the fight. But he’s got a forgiveness mechanism built right in, so as long as you aren’t trying to get womped, you’ll ramp up each fight and eventually get him.

So I’ll estimate a high end 30 revive max for players of appropriate roster and skill (solid valiant, fielding a team of R2/R3 champs, but not running high tier war or BGs) for a first path clear.
can you give me an estimate, imma start with the mutant mystics path with an early Paragon account with a 7*r2 sig 80 Kush, 6* r4 asd sig 88 onslaught and sinister(r2) or dazzler(r2)? Note I have never done any of those fights.
    Vaya con dios, homeboy.

I’m mega-cooked. I probably have enough revives and I should have more than enough units, but I took a long break from this game and only recently came back, so I am not familiar with any of the path fights. I’ll probably wait until all the major YouTubers do it and watch their guides, then do an initial clear of it in a couple weeks. Maybe one path per month unless someone finds an easy strategy. I think the fact that it has 6* gates is an indication that it won’t be too crazy. If they made the whole thing 7* only I would be extremely concerned

Color coded fight while looking at things like this?

I think we are all cooked.

I think this is why they made it also based on the weapon, so incase your color blind, you can tell what to do whether he has a spear, axe, or the minigun.

    I'm fine

bro I have some health potions and 30 revives idk if I can get through ares. Also do sidesteps count as intercepts?
No, only medium/light intercepts and counterpunch intercepts from thanos count (due to how his count for nodes aswell).

If it were a normal fight I’d maybe agree, but it’s Necropolis, aka the literal highest level of content in the game until Epoch drops. If we say that only the top 1% of people can handle it, then I think that’s pretty good, that’s about the percentage of people I expect to tackle Necropolis. It should be “impossible” for a majority of players, this is the content where they don’t pull punches. And I’m speaking as someone who has personally done Nameless GM sans RC immunity twice (and thought it honestly wasn’t even that bad). It’s not an unlearnable mechanic if you want to try, most people just never even bothered.

The mechanic is such total B.S. that Kabam had to officially insert a method to bypass it (RC immune).

It is totally bad game design. You know what is good game design? Phase 3. Players have to pick their poison of learning reversed controls or dealing with being at extremely low health. They can't just entirely choose to bypass the difficulty constraints. That maintains a level of difficulty for all players, regardless of which method they choose.

Sure, Skilled players can learn how to do phase 4. But the Unskilled players will just ignore the phase 4. If a fight is created to challenge the top 1%, having a method to completely remove any challenge runs contrary to that notion.

I’ll wait to reserve final judgement but I find comparisons to the Nameless GM to miss the mark too. That’s a fun twist on a boss fight that is mostly enjoyed by a large segment of the community. And reverse controls aren’t uncommon at these days.

Ares kit reads like the pinnacle of overtuned mountain. Like the designer got bullied, sent to the principals office, fired by their boss, dumped by their girlfriend and grounded before being given the assignment. Possibly a swift kick to the ares as well… and just wants to watch the world burn 🔥

Most champions are going to be nerfed down to Blue Cyke, if not all of them, but because that wasn’t enough we all get auto degen’d to the same health to celebrate revive spam?

I hope if plays differently and is fun… but if it plays like it reads there’s probably going to be even more attrition which seems like the direction things are trending in…

Pretty cooked. I'm tired of these overly complicated and dragging on fights. I just want to have fun playing and still able to rank up my champs. Its seemingly hard and hard and just not fun anymore. The fight have become more and more unpleasant to get the rewards you need to rank your champs now. I would have been psyched if it was like a notch above story mode new content. less and less playable fun content now. meh, I may do a lane at some point like I did in necro.

Cosmic skill nebula lane done i got super cooked bad team but very fun ares fight though

Any tips on how to react better to what special ares throws? I have a hard time telling if he's throwing sp1 or sp2 in the later phases and I'm getting rekt because of it

Nope just gotta keep watching the weapon i died a lot on his special being a sp2 than sp1 and when im ready for a sp2 he used a sp1

The colors they picked for this are beyond dumb… can’t even distinguish the difference trying to learn it. Thankfully others have practiced and shared but horrible design on this element.

Watching a couple of YouTubers do it - if you are going to revive a bunch anyway…maybe forget trying to guess. Just always treat it like it’s SP1. If it is, great. If not, oh well. Maybe it’s better to take the complexity out of it, be 50% right and forget it.
