So, how did you enjoy ares?

Personally I felt like crying a few times. Especially the beginning. I was under the assumption we are getting little pop ups or something to show what to do on his special attacks. But I was wrong. And yes I did read his abilities. I just expected visual clues.
Overall. The fight itself is fun and the concept is fun. I do really wish they didn't increase his special attack speed based on the phase.
Also if only his specials had something like glykhan where you know its sp1 or sp2. Since his animations are faster I did struggle with reacting to the special it is at that moment. I did get the timing eventually.
Anyone elses A.I was just.... Weird? I've never seen something like it. Also his reach on his sword light attack threw me off guard a few times.
Its not exactly a revive fest once you know what you're doing. But on the first run its definitely a revive fest.
Overall the quest itself id give a 8/10.
Only because of the faster animations ares gains + the gates (I hate gates)

I didn’t mind the sped up animations, but I did have a lot of difficulty not knowing which special attack was coming
First attempt went poorly but overall a good fun fight.
I think the rewards more than make up for the difficulty
The pity mechanism is an interesting way to just let people trivialize it with revive spam rather than bringing a good option to get better at it.
The haste was completely unnecessary too. If it was made easier to discern between specials or he didn’t have the haste I think it could have been a fine fight.
And the ridiculous health penalty was just an unnecessary element to force more revive spamming… that’s not hard, just mean for mean’s sake.
He didn't like we cheezed his horrible GM phase 4. He designed somthing that can't be cheezed.
Fun? Not really. Challenging? Absolutely
A Unit Fest with the unavoidable damage that just makes you feel like a waste of revives? Yes
Why Kebem is insisting on draining my HP to 1%? 🤔
Thought they said spamming revives is okay if we buy them from units?
Ares has a specific instructions on how to avoid damage from his special attacks, but what does Kabam do? They don’t ease you in to a new champion’s animations. What do I mean by that? From 100-90%, sure you can get used to his SP1. But what happens after that? He randomly chooses between SP1 and SP2.
What should happen?
Phase 1: allow the players to get familiar with SP1
Phase 2: allow the players to get familiar with SP2
Phase 3: allow the players to get familiar with alternating between SP1 and SP2
Phase 4 & 5: randomize the special attacks
I think that would’ve been a much pleasant experience for the players. Granted, he’s still difficult, but it becomes increasingly more difficult as the fight goes on through the above suggestion.
The same designer wanted us to fight gm with alternating reverse controls, is what I'm saying.
He is doing everything in his power to cost players items.
Endgame content used to cost 4k units per path on average. It's not like that anymore atleast.
We will get our shiny new r4 in the end regardless.
Id still rate abyss collector more bs than ares.
