Shang Chi

I’m maxing Shang Chi out rn but I’m having trouble dealing with his low health especially in story mode because he gets KOed easily in just a few hits. What can I do?

    He’s Shaun Chi to me…

My normal rotation with Shange Chi as a bare basic is:
    1. Parry
    2. MLLLM to trigger stun ability
    3. MLM or MM (depending on whether it's more useful to get cleanse on yourself or slow on them - default to MLM)
    4. Heavy while the stun is still active, to reset the Chi charges
    5. Parry again OR Bait a special OR intercept -> do whatever it takes to get an opening
    6. MLLLM again to trigger stun
    7. MLM, MLLM, SP2 (you should have enough power by now) - this should do a considerable amount of damage.
    8. Essentially repeat that until they go down.

    Interesting rotation.

So you go for the stun first, then you say you MLM or MM depending on the needs of the fight but if you immediately heavy right after while the stun is still active, it doesn’t matter because it resets them all right? Also I’ve never tried stun, then another combo then heavy, you’ve got enough time to do that?

It matters in the sense of what utility you need at the start of the fight. If you're running suicides, you do MLM after the stun combo to cleanse the debuffs. If you're in a fight where evade or unstoppable might be a problem, then you throw MM to get a slow up. If you don't need either set of utility, I usually just throw the MLM for a bit more power.

I like to go unblockable strike first, then run through my other strikes hitting into their block. Then you can do the stun strike into their block last, which should last just long enough to throw a heavy and reset your strikes. Doing it this way you should never have to rely on parry or intercepts. Just wash repeat and sp2 as needed.

Exactly. And yes, the heavy wipes out your cleanse charges, but it still uses them at the same time - for example, if you use this rotation against Mr Negative, when you throw the heavy you get the reverse controls debuff thingee on you from knocking him down, which your cleanses will immediately take care of BEFORE they are reset, so no reverse controls.

    Don't get hit

so that was AWESOME, but props for an immediate follow up with a solid and helpful walk through! actually, a lot of technical lore and love for Hong Kong Fuey in this thread, glad to see it.

100%, each combo effect decreases for the amount thrown (stun first to get it in,MM if you need them to stand still longer).
every combo you complete counts, goes to his crit damage, UNTIL you drop the SP2 to cash it all out.
can do a SP1 to SP2 depending on health pools.

essentially have fun slapping people around, and use all the utility, until either they fall over, or you SP2 them through the Great Wall. NOT the best skill champ, but effective, fun, and really intuititve. my dude gets undersold a lot.

In this game not getting hit is everything. If your looking for champs that can take some hits in casual content look for some of the following: rintrah, Sasquatch, destroyer, serpent, kingpin, hulkling, juggs, onslaught, thing, abs man, hulk, to name a few. These are some good champs to learn to play mcoc with…and of course an awakened Hercules will be your best friend.
