Anyone else having issues landing the light attack into Ares special?

I get the initial Dex, parry, parry done just fine, but that light attack always “misses” and I get smacked. Anyone experience this as well or have any advice?

the phase 1 and 2 special timing is a bit slower so it can sometimes not align

you have to do light attack while ares is attacking you with the spear

Don't do the light attack when the spear hits you, do it while it's in the air coming down

I did it twice in the first run, once in slow phase, once near the end somehow. Then next run, I missed the light attack like 6 times, so frustrating. So I'm late then if waiting for the the spear to hit, seems weird for it to be in the air. Seen People struggle with the final dex a bit too.

This happened to me on my last run. I couldn’t land a SINGLE light hit during his specials. I could do Dex and parry just fine, saw the green flash on my champ, but when the spear came out, no red or green flash on my champ when I hit Light and took spear to face every time. I tried to vary the timing, nothing, never even a green or red shimmer, it’s like it just didn’t register my input at all.

I had to throw the light slightly earlier than it felt like I should in order to get credit for the action.

Missed it every time in my one run. Would LOVE a prompt like we get with Kate on a late or early release so we can know what the heck needs corrected

I've done 2 runs and not managed to Dex a single sp1 or sp2. It's very frustrating as much as I've tried and I just need to accept the content isn't for my skill level.

3 paths cleared and I’ve only been able to ‘light attack’ twice into his SP. I consider that an achievement haha

Early light hits counts.

You can spam light immediately. Early light attacks will work.

2 runs and haven't had this issue yet, luckily.
It could be your timing.

yes i was having that same issue so in order to resolve it, i tapped the screen twice for 2 light attack and thanksfully that 2nd light attack hit the mark

To me it was like neither a dex or a parry timing, but then again I completely lost the timing on my final run.
Wish I had known I could spam it, that would've helped save some revives...

I’ve done 4 paths so far and can never get the light attack to register - will try to spam on the next path

Just did my last path & can confirm spamming lights definitely helped. Especially w/ Ares sp2
