This game needs to be fun every week. My idea:
I just watched MSD's video on Event Quests, and he is absolutely right. There is a big part of the game that doesn't feel fun anymore.
I open this discussion in order to talk about what can be made in order to bring Fun, Challenge and Accomplishment in the form of rewards to the game:
There are so many ideas, that, specially a Marvel game, can implement in order to have fun events.
My idea is to add Weekly Events to the game. These would be around 7 Weekly events that follow a standard rotation. Every single specific week focuses on a set of specific rewards PLUS a currency you can use to buy specific things.
Just for fun I will distribute an amount of rewards per week. Disclaimer: I am no game economist nor currency expert.
Rewards per week:
Week #1: x2.500 7-star Awakening Gem Crystal Shards + x20 generic 7-star Signature stones + x1 Tier 1 Celestial Alloy
Week #2: x12.500 7-star hero crystal shards + x5.000 titan crystal shards
Week #3: x6 Tier 6 basic catalyst + x6 Tier 3 alpha catalyst + x42.750 Tier 4 Alpha Catalyst Fragment (75%)
Week #4: x10 20% Revive + x5 40% Revive + x2 80% Revive
Week #5: x75 Units every day you manage to beat Ares (525 in the whole week) + x150 Tier 2 Primordial Dust
Week #6: x10.000.000 Gold + 25 Tier 6 Class ISO-8 Selector
Week #7: x7.500 5-star Relic Crystal shards + 4.000 6-star Relic Crystal Shard + x5 Tier 5 class catalyst selectors
Since the specific rewards are in a large rotation, this allows each week to proportionate a generous reward.
For example: the reward for week #2 is crystal shards, since this doesn't happen often at all, the reward can be 12.500 7-star crystal shards + 5.000 titan shards, which makes that specific week incredibly desirable, but maintains value on the rewards since they do not come often.
To balance the rewards, and to give the players a chance to focus into a specific reward they want more, every single week would also reward a certain quantity of currency, that can be used to buy their desired items in a store. For now, I will call it "Marbles". All of the Marble Store wares would be ADDITIONAL to each week's specific rewards.
Just for fun I will set up a store. Same disclaimer: I am no game economist nor currency expert.
I will base most of my calculations on the current Mysterium, Battlegrounds and Sigil stores.
Every single event week's additional reward would be up to 5.000 Marbles.
The Marble Store would include:
Titan crystal (1 = 50.000 Marbels)
Titan crystal shards (1.000 = 2.500 Marbels)
7-star nexus crystal (1 = 40.000 Marbels)
7-star crystal (1 = 15.000 Marbels)
7-star crystal shards (1.000 = 1.000 Marbels)
50% Tier 7 basic catalyst fragments (31.500 = 30.000 Marbels)
Tier 6 basic catalyst (1 = 1.000 Marbels)
Tier 4 alpha catalyst (1 = 20.000 Marbels)
Tier 3 alpha catalyst (1 = 1.000 Marbels)
Tier 6 class catalyst (1 = 5.000 Marbels)
Tier 5 class catalyst (1 = 750 Marbels)
Awakening Gem Crystal (1 = 60.000 Marbels)
7-star generic signature stones (10 = 1.000 Marbels)
Tier 2 Primordial Dust (50 = 1.250 Marbels)
Tier 1 Primordial Dust (50 = 1.000 Marbels)
Tier 6 Class ISO-8 Selector (1 = 200 Marbels)
20% Revive (1 = 750 Marbels)
40% Revive (1 = 1.000 Marbels)
80% Revive (1 = 1.500 Marbels)
Health Potions (?)
Gold (?)
Just to see how this behaves over some time:
1 titan crystal after 10 weeks (2.5 months)* = (close to 5 titan crystals for free in a year)
1 7-star nexus crystal after 8 weeks (2 months)*
1 7-star crystal after 3 weeks*
1 Awakening Gem Crystal after 12 weeks (3 months)* = (4 in a year)
50% of a Tier 7 basic catalyst fragments after 6 weeks (1.5months)* = (1 complete every 3 months) = (free R4 7-star after 9 months)
You would be able to buy 2.5 T6B + 2.5 T3A every single week
*= it is important to understand that these calculations would be if the player saves EVERY single Marble for that specific length of time, which most likely won't be the case for the majority of people. Some people may want save just a portion of their Weekly Marbles.
There is so much they can do, but I think that the developers boxed themselves in their old system of doing events, where all feel exactly the same to do, with nothing special to excite players.
