New Map - Node 25 Serpent

This is an extremely terrible node interaction with Serpent. My main reason for making this post is twofold:
1. To seek possible answers or solutions to this challenge.
2. To draw attention to this nasty interaction that I think needs to be looked at seriously.

I know there are a few counters. I faced a R4 Serpent once last season and managed to solo him with a R3 Dazzler. I know Shuri can handle him too, and I’ve seen a R4 Shathra do it as well. But these are very limited options—just a handful of viable counters. With bans in play, that pool becomes even smaller. That’s why I’ve been testing other champions, in case the go-to options are banned or unavailable.

So far, it’s been a real challenge. I also get that not having the freedom to boost heavily right now might be tipping the scale. Maybe with big boosts, some of the champs I tried—Purgatory, Shathra, and Rintrah—might pull off a solo. Rintrah came close but died mostly due to Thorns damage.

But here’s the thing: Should it be impossible to win a fight without massive boosts?
Should a node interaction be allowed to remain as is if the only real solution is to force players to boost up hard every time? Shouldn’t skillful play and the right RPG be enough?

This is a real problem because it takes a lot out of the player’s hands. Unless you have a non-contact attacker or someone who can bypass Thorns, you’re constantly bleeding health. And the pool of champions who can deal with that is already small—shrinks even more when you’re only considering viable 7-stars. Using a 6-star against a R4 Serpent, even a decent counter, will be suicides.

We’re also talking about a champion who already deals massive block damage by design, and without the right counter you're in trouble. Yes, I know Serpent can be soloed. But the viable options are few, and most need to be equal rank and heavily boosted. A smart ban can almost guarantee a death, multiple deaths—or worse, a roadblock.

Maybe there’s something I’m not seeing, this, this post. This is exactly what I feared with some of these newer, stronger defenders—how badly they’d interact with certain nodes. Path 7 is just 1/9 on the map, so if no one says anything, interactions like this might just get ignored.

I really don’t want this to be the reason I leave a competitive alliance—feeling forced to give away a death not because I played poorly, but because the interaction and design along with the pool of counters are just unreasonable.

Its a long post, thanks for reading. Added bonus is reading is good for you 😉.
