Holy Cow they cooked with the Radiance Store

I just want to say I’m very impressed with the radiance store’s offering, and really just the post in general. I’m especially glad that Kabam (or at least Crashed) acknowledge that there isn’t any solo competitive PVE content for players to get up to date rewards.

Small thing though- why not put some ascension dust in there? Some of us would like some, especially T1.

Can’t wait for the new updates on radiance sources.

Since the store is really aimed at valiants(though TB has access), valaints really don't need t1 dust. Your ranking up 7*. There's very little need or use for 4 and 5* at that point.

The goal of the radiance store is premium endgame rewards. Primordial dust doesn't fit into that category, especially not T1.

Fair enough. Though the point still stands for T2, it would’ve been a nice exception just because of how unreasonably rare T1 dust is for Valiant players nowadays.

Arena. Completionism too, but mostly arena.

Very easy solution to that. Just have the progression title option thing for choosing dust so valiant players can choose t1 instead of t2

Ascension dust has only decreased in value since it launched. 6* champs have moved more toward becoming obsolete (though still have a ways to go) and more of those 6* champs have become, or are becoming 7*. Players may still want some and use some, but especially for Valiants, which is the target audience, it is not a resource that progresses their accounts. Premium resources aren't things that are just hard to get, but things that add value to the accounts of endgame players.

It was a very interesting post and I'm very excited for the radiance store, 3 to 4 updates a year sounds great.

    There's also this:

Start saving your t2 dust for Magik I guess lol

Saving Dust? If they release her she’s probably gonna be a 7 star. Insane to think about, but if she is there’s no dust needed :)

3 to 4 updates a year also sounds lofty and unlikely to stick for too long, but I hope it holds up.

Doubt it's the 7* don't even have the 6* in game yet.

Lol there is a 0.000001% chance of that happening before 8* are in the game. As long as her limbo scales with modified attack she will always be one rarity behind because that ability is just straight up broken on defense.

From my perspective - I am getting to GC in BG’s but always in uru. Not in a top war or AQ alliance… and this just looks like it’s not going to help me much at all. And I will be staring at the same stale rewards basically everywhere else since this seems to be the focus now.

Gonna be way behind as a valiant in short order

Glad its being well received! BIG team effort, Crashed and crew did a ton here

There's something that's not making sense to me. Why adjust GC points with used elders if alliance rank rewards will get no buffs? With current 1 1/2 T4A as 1st place rewards, there's no point in using Elders at all, we can climb GC by only using energy.

    Radiance store is awesome.

It's so that higher tier players don't just sit and camp in VT

If you're not in a top War alliance and only reach Uru, then why does it matter if you get way behind?
Well, it matters in the potential progression. I know I’m not top end, but when a new title came out, I could achieve it in 4-6 months. Could be looking at a lot longer than that - a year or a year and a half if the gap explodes between valiants.

I wonder if the radiance store is going to incentivize new players to chase top Celestial ranks. I.e., people with jobs/lives who just didn't see the purpose of grinding for the top Celestial spots when the only meaningful reward was basically an ego boost?

Well, we don't know anything about a new title so we'll have to see about that.
I also don't think that radiance is some magic button that will turn regular players into 24/7 grinders, so if a big gap happens, it will likely be between the very top 1% no-lifers and the rest of the Valiants. If anything, I see radiance as sucking dry that 1% for even more of their money, since they'll be ramping up their spending to make sure their rosters are as stacked as possible to chase the PvP radiance rewards.
Basically, throwing some chum in the water for the fish to battle each other with spending.

“There is a noticeable parallel between the ways that commercial fishermen and department stores generate a competitive fury among those they wish to hook. To attract and arouse the catch, fishermen scatter some loose bait called chum. For similar purposes, department stores holding a bargain sale toss out a few especially good deals on prominently advertised items called loss leaders. If the bait—of either form—has done its job, a large and eager crowd forms to snap it up. Soon, in the rush to score, the group becomes agitated, nearly blinded, by the adversarial nature of the situation. Human beings and fish alike lose perspective on what they want and begin striking at whatever is being contested.”

as far as i’m aware they have never made it so that you could reach the next progression within 4-6 months just off these competitive mode. Progression for the first 4-6 month is usually achieved through endgame PVE content like necro or story. So this essentially makes no difference.

I'm happy people are getting the rewards bump they so craved. Me, I could care less. My real question is, is that book you quoted worth reading because that paragraph seems really interesting.

Yeah, I think so, if you're interested in the subject matter. It's canonical in the field of marketing and psychology.

People with jobs/lives will keep have the same limited time to play the game, so no, not really. I usually spend around 20 days in VT, because I don't have the time to climb faster, and with the new matchmaking system, where Uru low tier players will constantly get matched with high end spenders, the reason for "dedication" won t be there.
