How to play Dormammu?

I have a 5 star Dormammu and am wondering how to play him properly. When the battle starts, I parry and use heavy attack. Then I use two medium attacks again and again until they are at 100 soul bond. Then I fire of the heavy attack to detonate the soul bond. Then i fire off special 2. I keep repeating this. However, i feel as if I am not using Dormammu's full potential. Can anyone tell me if I am doing it right or wrong?

i play just like this for me it works but you can also let you get to 100 and burst him into another universe

A few different ways to use him depending on your opponent. Starting off with a parry, heavy is always a good idea to get that soul bond on. Basically use a heavy after any parry that you land unless you want to charge up the soul bond more. But you’re ok to just use 5 hit combos and finish with a medium unless you really want to keep them below a Bar of Power. Dormammu is all about being imbued, it makes his abilities stronger. You increase your dark energy whenever the opponent loses power. That can be you draining it or them using a special. When you reach 100 dark energy a green symbol will appear under your health bar, this means you’re imbued. You have a lot of options at this point. You can either:
-Use a 2nd medium and burn power dealing a small amount of direct damage.
-Use a sp1 to nullify every buff on the opponent, particularly useful against people like groot, venom, sim etc. Each buff nullified gives 50 dark energy, so if you nullify 2 or more you’ll instantly be imbued again. Also very useful with mystic dispersion as you can have a sp2 ready immediately after.
-Use a sp2 to power drain on each projectile hit as well as power lock. This drains quite a lot of power and will charge up your soul bond.
-Or you can use a sp3 to gain an empowered dimensional link buff. You need this if you want to heal (I’ll mention how to heal below) and using a sp3 is useful in longer fights because you have a constant flow of dark energy (as you gain dark energy, your soul bond charges up so both increase together after a sp3) As a result, you become imbued much more often.

The worst of the above imo is the imbued 2nd medium unless you’ve used a sp3 and have that constant dark energy coming in.

You can play him in lots of ways to great success but those are your options with him really. If you’re trying to focus on power control make sure you stop ending combos with mediums after you become imbued so that you can drain power with the sp2. Again this depends on your opponent. If you’re fighting magik and don’t want her to gain a Bar at all keep using that medium until you can lock her. Use it if you accidentally push an opponent to 3 bars as well.

Healing: there’s a few steps to this that can be carried out in different orders. You’ll get the hang of that with practice. You need a dimensional link buff by using an imbued sp3. You need a soul bond on your opponent too. When you detonate this with the empowered dimensional link buff you’ll heal for 25% of the damage it deals. For the best results, charge up your soul bond to 100 before detonating.
