Personal opinion after giving it a try and wanting to have my own personal opinion on the quest. The design is lazy. The difficulty comes from options to use, not the execution itself. You can try to loosen nuts and bolts with a pair of pliers I guess, is not the best tool, probably strip the nuts, and it will get done. Now is it fun to work like that? Nope is not. Specially when you have a box full of tools and someone just decided to lock them.
Everest content is supposed to be challenging, removing or limiting is just a lazy way of making things more difficult.

Most of their new Everest content is recycled. There are few pieces of new things added sporadically but most of their end game content is not. The last full fledged brand new end game content was necro which was about 2 yrs ago. Now this has even trickled down to monthly content. A valiant event quest is just same defenders from lower quest with champ swap node. Side quest has used same rewards and same format for more than a year now.
Something has changed and it’s looking more and more like they have lost their creative edge. Once in a while they hit a jackpot like ares but that’s too few and far between.
Nah, this is just not true. Necro is great, the seasonal quests like SoS and WoW were pretty fun with nice rewards, and Ares is such a cool boss in Epoch. It's just the Wheel that's been sort of a miss

The tags, that's the main thing. The nodes themselves aren't anything too crazy but the tags just pushed the whole thing to another level of annoying. The 7* only restrictions are fine, and I do agree tags should be somewhat restrictive but not to this point cause it's ridiculous not everyone whales out in the game. I play regularly, I am an endgame player but my Titan luck has been arse and I haven't pulled Spiral instead I pulled Gentle four times so I can't do that Serpent unless I use Leader lol same thing for the Gorr in Quest 2 I don't have Void or Wong so now I'm completely roadblocked there all because my crystal luck as been arse and I haven't pulled either of them.

The tags being restrictive is the main issue, but I still feel that the quest design itself is horrendous. The healthpools being so high is just absolutely ridiculous, and all the fights become genuine slogs to get through even without all the tag restrictions. Nobody wants to fight a 2.5 million Health Serpent, Bullseye, or Enchantress. It's just lazy quest design

Kabam should have released this when the new title dropped and there wasn't a major sale in a couple of weeks. At least then, the content could have stayed relevant for at least a couple of months

Gatekeeping a new progression title behind this quest would have been suicide. Nobody would be doing the quest even for the progression title, and the playerbase would revolt even more than it already has. At least the Wheel isn't mandatory; if it was, the gap between F2p and whales would just grow even larger. This quest was already a big mess as it is, gatekeeping a new level of progression behind it would just make the situation even worse.

Oh absolutely agreed, but if the tags weren't as restrictive I would've done it regardless of it being annoying and not fun that's what I meant.

Yeah, me too. As a mid-tier Valiant player, I can't even touch this quest because of my limited 7 star roster. It would be a challenge even without the tags, but with them it's literally impossible

Same here, I am however a little more endgame than mid tier cause I do have a lot of solid counters that can do it but I am missing a few, exactly three. I'm missing counters for Gorr and Enchantress in Quest 2 (literally not a single one), then I'm also missing a Thor counter in Quest 3 (also not a single one), and then if Gladiator can't do Dust in Quest 3 then that's four counters I'm missing in total. I'm sure I'll get them eventually but it is annoying that even I, with 3 r4s 30 r3s and over 30 r2s, still can't do this type of content not because I'm not an endgame player but because I have a sig 80 Maw thanks to RNG but no Wong. I literally have an account big enough to be in Quantum in BGs but apparently I'm not an endgame player? If they're making tags this restrictive then they should allow 6* as well and not 7* exclusive cause this is exactly what happens, people with bad crystal rng are roadblocked for absolutely no reason, and then they have the audacity to leave it open for Paragons as if they could do it when players like me can't lol.

Just 'cause the content's optional doesn't mean Kabam has the right to make it crappy
