Ability Accuracy effects for new BGs meta

Can someone help me to understand how ability accuracy affects this new meta? I used Iron heart, which when tracking is up, the defender should have a -100% offensive ability accuracy when hitting her block. This turns off any bubble shield node and I expected it to turn this invade node off. But I was still taking a ton of block damage with tracking up. I used Crossbones against photon and expected him to turn off the node, but I was still taking a ton of block damage even when I had 5+ Fury buffs. Just curious if this is a bug, or there’s a different interaction with this node.

It depends on how the node is coded. There's offensive, defensive, and general (probably not the official name for it) ability accuracy. I would assume that this node falls under the general ability accuracy. There's also a pretty big negative if you shut that node down - you would lose that benefit too. Since OAA and DAA reduction didn't shut it down, that solves the mystery of the type of ability accuracy it is.

But there are also cases where they just don't have the ability accuracy coded in a way that makes sense. Like glancing. Every ounce of common sense since the dawn of time would say that glancing is defensive ability accuracy since it can only trigger when the champ is being hit. But for whatever reason, there is no champ out there that can bypass glancing by reducing defensive ability accuracy.

All that to say, it's general ability accuracy to shut it down, so you won't do it with either extreme, and you also don't want to shut it down because you will then lose the benefit of the node for yourself.

The node is not affected by AAR.

it's a flat attack increase when hitting block

    glancing does work though

Thank you both for the responses.

I believe invade is one of those nodes that takes effect at the start of the fight so AAR doesn't matter. I think Yelena and Chee has the kit to counter it.

I think Yelena and Chee'ilth can partially mitigate rather than counter Invade - their opponent won't benefit from the +300% Attack, but will still treat their block proficiency as zero.

Actual counters are going to be a trio of champs that almost no-one has ranked up. Because whilst Invade reduces your block proficiency to zero, it doesn't actually affect Perfect Block. So Classic Captain America, Cap WWII and Classic Daredevil will retain their 30-40% Perfect Block abilities.

It's a shame they've all got pillows instead of fists, really; although the Invade node could help them out with that, I suppose.

If anyone happens to have a 6* 5/65 Sig 200 Daredevil (Classic), this might be the one chance you get to use him in competitive content...
