Do anyone else’s characters dash forward when attempting to dash backwards?

It seems to be happening more and more frequent for me. I know these champions or nodes do not have reverse controls. Just randomly I’m clearly swiping back and I just get launched forward. It happens most commonly when I’m trying to dash back on special attacks, although it can just randomly do it as well. I’m playing on an iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Yup happens too often! Especially when fighting Onslaught and he throws special attack 1. It's like the AI has a reverse control ability, and pulls you right into it's special 1 when you're trying to avoid it. It's so annoying.

I've mentioned this issue before, but was told that it's not a game issue since it's not happening to enough players.

It happens on very rare occasions out of the blue, and sometimes when there is a lag and my various inputs weren't registering and then I just do some random action.
Again, very rare for me. Using iphone 15 pro max.

Sweaty hands and wet phone screen make it happen. If you're playing for. Along time make sure to clean your hands and phone in between.

No. It often happens as soon as I start a fight. That's not enough time to have sweaty hands

I thought it was the notch at first so I flipped my phone so dashing is on the non notch side, doesn’t matter, happens legitimately (without exaggeration) 1 out of 7 revives. It’s so discouraging.

Same thing happened to me before when I was fighting him. I wasn't even recording at first until something weird happened. I started recording, and happened to catch this very issue. It's like the game/AI sets you up to be hit by the defender.

It's user issue.
It depends how you hold your device.
What part of you hands/fingers are making contact.
How close are you fingers to the screen while tapping and swiping.
Screen Touch sensitivity. Etc

Used to happen to me... I changed how I hold the device. Don't happen anymore.

More often than not, my issue is that I will CLEARLY dash back in time to avoid a heavy, and my champ will just stand there like an idiot and take a heavy to the face.

Yep. Especially in war and bg’s also have the delayed dash back happen as well and take a shot to the face.

That's reverse control or the other one delirious or something. When fighting them I try parry first hit cos it's so easy to get caught

I can clearly say it has to do with the screen sensitivity of the iPhone 16 pro max. I just upgraded and noticed the same thing started happening. Trying to figure out how to change the sensitivity but the screen bounds seem larger so probably just an adjustment period.

I only play on iPad. For me, this started about 4 months ago and happens quite a bit.

While I concede that it might be a user error caused by hand placement, I don't think that's it since the only thing that's changed about my set up is updates to iPadOS and MCOC.

This started to happen for me after I upgraded my phone to a Pixel 8 last year. It is incredibly frustrating seeing the reverse action to the intended input.
I have, like SirGamesBond said, found that the way your fingers hit the screen has a big impact. If for instance your left finger is angled slightly towards the right, the tap might register as a dash forward instead of a block.
I have had to adapt the way I hold the phone while playing to minimise the occurrence of incorrect input. However, I still get instances where my champ moves back mid-combo instead of using light attacks.

I agree with this. It happens to me sometimes when playing casually. I will swipe left to dex and move right and eventually noticed that there is a micromovement of my thumb as it contacts the screen. It is just a tiny flex to the right before I swipe left. When I go into competitive mode like aw, I change how I hold the phone just a bit so that I am out of range of accidentally hitting the striker button and use more intentional movement with just the finger tip for dex/dash and it doesn't happen.

A swipe not registering during a critical times is beyond frustrating. And the defender is like "oh you're just going to stand there? Ok. POW!"

Also, I've noticed a few times this during a special and after the first hit connects I will dash back and then be able to block, but still taking the first hit. And another thing, in WOF quest 1, Nefaria will get hit by the last hit of Gorrs SP1 but still evade it and I believe the effects from the hit happen. If that's a kit thing I couldn't find it.

@Toproller89 maybe negative because of his special one? He reverses controls and he isn’t special trigger happy so he’s a sneak defender. It may just be the game kabamming you tbf

I've fought Neg before. Champ will dash in when there is no reverse control/delirium on them.

I get the opposite. They dash back randomly.

Kabam seems to have deleted my post on this issue.

Lately not only r the input issue and AI response time issue bugs been more and more frequent, it seems Kabam rather than resolving those is actually exploiting them to create nodes where u have to keep doing the problematic action.

Seen a whole lot of intercept nodes when everyone knows intercept is broken.

AI is actually able to block the stringed relic hits quite consistently now.

N a few days back my Chavez got blocked when I was trying to string the sp1 on her heavy’s second hit. Not once but multiple times across content.

Not sure what Kabam is trying to do.

It just happened four times with Wheel Deathless Thanos. Also, I find randomly I also just get stuck, frozen in place and then just immediately heavied. I love this game, dearly, but these moments are so disappointing, especially when you spend money on units (which I did).

What else is new. I complaint about this back in 2020. It was a problem then, now and in the future.
