Alliance War Solution

There’s been a lot of mixed reviews of the recent alliance war experiment… personally, I find myself somewhere in the middle, in that I liked the shortened time commitment and less stress, but also preferred the strategy of the old format. That in mind, I’ve been thinking about a potential solution that could keep things fresh, while also implementing a more strategic experience.

Here’s my idea:

Go back to the experimental map of 10 nodes, but each one is left with 5 blank slots where alliances could choose which modifiers to place.

Modifiers would be on a drag and drop list and have various costs associated with them and each ally would have a budget of… let’s say 50 points to pick and choose which modifiers they want and where to place them.

You could put anywhere from 0-5 modifiers on each node, and there would also be global modifiers (like the increase of health and attack/sp3 activated etc.) that would be automatic. Some of the modifiers could be tagged as “specialty”, or something similar, wherein only 1 specialty mod could be placed on each node. The idea being kabam could identify mods that if put on the same node would cause an impossible road block, and thus prevent it from happening.

I think this format would keep things fresh, in that every war map would be different based on what alliances came up with for node combinations. You could tailor your defensive nodes to the defenders you had available, so you also wouldn’t be facing the same group of defenders every war. It would bring life to forgotten champions that would shine on defence if they only had the right node combination.

Every war would feel unique and interesting, and take careful planning, but still remain that each player would only have to complete 1 fight.

Maybe you sacrifice a couple nodes leaving with no modifiers, but top load a couple nodes to make them hell. Maybe you try to spread things out and get a few KOs on each node.

I know this is probably not a perfect solution, and there’s likely things I haven’t thought of… but outside of the guaranteed bugs that would be sure to accompany any change to the game, a change like this, would certainly re-ignite my interest in the game, and I think the community at large would feel the same… but sound off and let me know your thoughts.
