Does this still serve a purpose?

Do any people look at this bar in the middle before starting a fight? It apparently tells your how likely you are to win which isn’t the case. It feels pointless to still have.

I think it's still useful for players in the beginning, as they aren't as skilled and are definitely going to get hit a lot more often and make more mistakes. As for end-game players, it may not serve as a description of the difficulty of the fight but I like to use it as a "how long will this fight probably be" meter

That's the most useless feature in MCOC

I remember I used to watch this meter before every fight in the beginning, like when act 3 and 4 was the top story content. If the bar is in my side, or slightly towards the enemy side, I could win it, else I can't (or can with revives).

My general playstyle was parry - 5 hit combo - eat 5 hit combo - parry - repeat. I was not able to parry a dashing opponent plus didn't know dexterity was a thing Lmao :p
