Is this game getting cannibalized by its own success?

I feel like the more popular this game becomes the less reliable it gets. I remember that the game had its troubles when I joined, but it was never like this. Of course, back then it was not the top downloaded game in the App Store. However, as this game has grown in popularity, especially this year, it has been vulnerable to multiple server crashes per week. It seems like this problem occurs over and over again, yet Kabam does not seem to have a long-term remedy for it. What say you guys?
