Not getting rewards

The last two contests I spent a lot of time in and when I open the message supposed to contain my rewards I don’t receive any. I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen but I don’t think it is

you either joined the alliance late or you are claiming them from the rewards icon at the bottom right corner stash box first.
