Iceman armor not forming

So I was battling Hyperion in AW on node 22 when he got me with an sp3 per the usual. I then see the ice armor timer counting down and just when the timer completed, it then restarted and Didn't form the ice armor. I was a screen length away from hype so he didn't connect on a hit. Has anyone else experienced this? I take this path all of the time and this has never happened before
