(Bugged?) AI 3rd tier Specials

I've wondered about this for a while. I hardly ever use T3 special moves because they usually don't seem to be worth it (and the animations take all day). However, when I do use one, I average about 1/3 of my opponent's life bar when they are near equal power level. Its not like I should expect to kill a comparable opponent in a single hit...

Except a few times the AI has done just that to me. Particularly lately Carnage did it. Hyperion also did it (and I KNOW his special doesn't hit that hard cuz I have him). So what is going on? Does the AI get some kind of hidden modifier to their T3 special abilities, or does the game sometimes accidentally throw an extra zero on the intended damage? I'm leaning towards this being intermittent. I know how to bait specials so I don't get hit by them much, but sometimes a nearly evenly matched AI will hit me with one that only does about 1/3 of my HP.

Any experienced players have a definitive answer?

    You're going to have to give a little more detail as to when and where you see this. Because I know in 5.4 for example, Hyperion 3rd will kill me automatically.

    It was just in Versus. Their 1100ish Hyperion vs. my 1100ish Mordo...

    Nope. I was still at like 97% because I had parried everything up to that point (so no Hyperion heavy). Basically 100 to 0 for no reason. And yeah, I don't question it when the AI with 4x my power one-shots me...but these even fights ending in a one-shot is just broken.

    The cosmic charges increase his attack rating by quite a bit (1 cosmic charge is almost the same strength as a fury buff), so if he has them stacked, the L3 can be quite deadly

    If you talk about questing, the PI of the champions does not compare to their real stats because ur masteries inflate YOUR PI while theirs stays much lower. In general tho, it depends who u use for the damage. Mordo's sp3 does very very little damage whereas champs like gwenpool, blade, and Hyperion have hard-hitting sp3s.

    Yeah, I never bother trying to finish an even AI with a special unless they are at 20% or less.
