Mordo + Mesmerize

I was just fighting mordo in the new trials and whenever i would go to strike mordo I would get stunned which is fine because thats what mesmerize is supposed to do, but it would also trigger Astral Evade and so I ended up getting double degen on me... is this supposed to happen? i thought mordo only triggers astral evade when you attack him while he is stunned....
I dont know if this was reported or spoken about anywhere else or if this is normal!
