If anyone is having problems with Gold they should look into maxing out the Pittance and Prosperity masteries as they increase gold by +3 and 2% respectively. So if you would normally get a gold reward of 100 you would now get 105! There really isn't a better way to spend 5 mastery points and at least as many stony cores.
