Issues with specials trigger button and delayed response

I've been noticing that many times when I try to trigger specials the button does not activate the special or if it does there is a delayed response giving the opponent time to block the attack. Special 3 should trigger at any time if I'm not mistaken except for when the opponent is in process of their special. Seems that this is not the case in game play. This issue seems to be more prevalent at lower opponent health when the AI switches attack mode. Is anyone else having this issue and is Kabam looking into this?
