King Groot slides across the screens beginning his SP1

I just finished the expert mode in todays trial of hearts, and ran into what I feel is a blatant change/addition to King Groots SP1 action and animation.
The beginning of the fight when he triggered SP1, all was normal as always. During the middle of the fight with a hit streak of approx. 70 or so, his SP1 began with him sliding forward connecting with me when I had dashed back 2 times. Normally with 1 dash back the intial swing is easily avoided but as I said I was at the end of 2 dash backs.
He basically covered the whole screen with his slide. This happened 5 times. Then torwards the end of the fight his SP1 was back to normal.
I'm seriously hoping others have ran into this also and it doesnt get "sweeped under the rug". Unfortunately I can't even go back to record another fight to try and duplicate and record it since my 1 entry has been used.
