5* featured crystal dilemma

Hi! I'd like to ask something about the upcoming blade 5* featured crystal. If I were to hoard the featured crystal when it comes out, not opening it until the 15th of March, will I still be able to take advantage of that increased chance of getting him knowing that the upcoming patch is going to change how the 5* featured crystal works? Thanks.
