Member leaves and wants to rejoin

Hi if a member leaves while defenders are in place for wars, theirdefenders stay in the game. What happens if they want to rejoin in attacking phase. Can they come back into the war or are they disabled to like new members that join the ally.

    Pretty sure it's like they are a new member. I don't think there's a grace period.
