'Down For Emergency Maintenance' killed my quest chance

I was playing Act 5, i am attempting to become uncollected and not being the highest rated of players, i find it quite a challenge to get through. I applied all possible boosts i had to try and get a chapter finished (Health boost, Attack Boost, Champion boost, and i popped on an XP boost whilst i was on the right screen).
Within a couple of minutes of starting, just getting towards the end of my first fight, the game disconnected for Emergency Maintenance. It took at least an hour to get back onto the game, by which time all my boosts had expired, my champ was ko'd and the opponent i was fighting was back on full health.
These boosts are not easy to come by, rare to find and crazy expensive to purchase when they come available.
I sent a complaint/ticket explaining this to Kabam and got a ridiculous generic reply that didn't address any points i made, and suggested that i check my wifi settings to see if this was the problem. IT WAS DOWN FOR EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE!!! DOES MY WIFI AFFECTS YOUR SERVERS???
I replied again, really not happy now and 2 days later received a reply saying they are sorry, have had a large number of messages similar to mine (no real details given) and they are working hard to fix any game problems. No return of wasted boosts, no offer to help rectify my issue at all, essentially its tough luck.
How is this at all fair?
