    You save up shards for crystals over time - you have to save up gold for rank ups. It takes less than an hour to grind the shards for a premium crystal for most people, and funnily enough, the 2* you're likely to get from it will probably take a few hours to grind the gold/cats to rank them. A 5* takes what... 1-2 weeks to grind for even for top alliance guys? If you started at 0 gold, I'd imagine it would take around the same amount of time to get everything required to get that 5* to rank 3 or 4 - probably longer.

    It sucks, yes, because you want instant gratification like everyone else does nowadays... but that's how games like this work.

    If it wasn't gold that was a barrier, it would be catalysts, or something else. The constant need to play to develop is what keeps people coming back to the game every day. If you could endless pull champs and rank them instantly, you'd stop playing after a month as it would be boring as hell.

    Not asking for instant gratification, asking for gold rewards ( events, event quests, possible gold boost) to be adjusted to the rate 5s are coming in nowadays.

    I used to laugh about people posting that they had this issue. Maybe 4 months ago. I had 2 million gold sitting really good. Now I have 70k and can't progress. Also note, that the amount of time I dedicated to the game drastically took a dive. But it's not because I have other things to do, it's because I started dedicated my time to higher arenas and challenges. All the sudden I was getting all of these rank up materials, and new champions worth ranking up, and not enough gold.

    So, the gold amount for completing fights in act 5/uncollected events need to be increased significantly. They are still giving out the same gold rewards as they did when the game first started. The game has evolved, and everyone complaining about the gold shortage has a viable argument.

    Gold Realms (or whatever they want to call it) on Sunday's is a perfect idea. It seems to be the most popular one as well.

    The whole idea of resources is that you need to manage them, otherwise there's no point in having them at all. Might as well just make leveling and ranking a ffa.

    As others have mentioned, the gold issue is that gold can't keep up with the collection of catalysts. I'm forced to not open any of my AQ crystals or anything that can give me t4 catalysts fragments of any kind because I'm maxing out catalysts and can't collect the gold fast enough to use them.

    Kabam should simply increase the gold rewards for uncollected event quest x10 or something to increase gold rewards. I don't have the time to grind arena for 10 hours a day...

    @Qwerty
    That's not the point I'm making. They are drastically inflating the value of gold by making it more scarce and increasing the demand. They've NEVER addressed this issue. It's like never receiving a raise from your employer but they are giving you the company car that costs you 5x more to maintain than it did 5 years ago.

    I don’t think Kabam intends for us to rank up every single champ as soon as we get them. That places importance on resource management which is different for every player. You have to make good rank up decisions. Yes you get 5* at a faster rate but do you really need to rank everyone of them up? I have gotten 5 new 5* the last month but I don’t want to rank up all of them because I know how quickly I get gold and I want to be ready for getting a champ like blade
