Free mastery rank up (yeah right)

so i redo my masteries and unlock despair using 2 carb cores. click to put 1 point and it pops up 1 carb core to unlock. so clearly once again something that could be good has been screwed up by kabam. please address this and fix it.

    Masteries are free to rank up, not free to unlock. Great if you're redoing masteries. Doesn't apply if you're unlocking masteries.

    Not sure if you were around after the 12.0 debacle, but the free mastery reset they gave us back then is exactly the same as summoner appreciation week 2's free mastery reset. As the player above stated; you don't get free masteries that you haven't unlocked.

    However, supposedly the 22 hour events now have mastery cores in the rank rewards so there's your chance at unlocking those masteries you don't have..

    That's for the next level. I believe each level costs 1 carb or 1 carb and 2 stonies to unlock in that tree. It's always units to rank up (which is what is currently free).

    You already put 1 point in Despair?
    Because it asks 1 carb core to unlock 2/3, and other carb core to unlock 3/3. It was always like that

    Ranking up masteries usually cost an amount of units ranging from 2 to 10 units.
    Unlocking masteries require cores, carb cores or stony mastery or class cores.
    Deep wounds, Assassin, unfazed and despair all need a certain amount of carb/stony mastery cores per rank. So you spend cores to unlock rank 1, put a point in, then spend cores to unlock rank 2.

    What's different and free this week is ranking up, so you don't need to pay the small amount of units to put a point on. But you still need to spend cores to unlock the mastery

    You have to unlock each level for that mastery. You only unlocked level 1. It's asking you to unlock level 2 before you can add your final point.

    If it were any other week it would have asked you to spend units to add the 1st point to it in addition to the carb core you already used to unlock it.

    I UNLOCKED IT. put 1 point in it. still have 1 point left went to add it and it wants me to spend more. but this week they are supposed to be free to rank up once unlocked.

    This is it. Certain Masteries require more Cores to unlock Ranks 2 and up. The cost of switching Maseries that are unlocked is free. You still have to pay the usual cost to unlock all Ranks.

    Haha.. great laugh.. good start to the day.. as op mentioned.. every level needs to be unlocked prior to being ranked up.. unlock cost remains.. rank up cost is free..

    Uh lol this gave me a good laugh, as others have said it only applies to mastries that you have already unlocked at the level you unlocked them.

    Each mastery level of despair costs you a carb core, I have level to in despair to move to the next level it requires me to buy or get another one.

    In my case I have 2 points so that's all I can do, in yours you have one point in and can't reach the next ones without getting an additional 2 cores.

    This hasn't changed and is the same for all of the mastries that require cores, if you don't have the necessary ones to unlock them then they remain locked until you get more someway.

    Its free to rank up if the next rank is already unlocked! How many times do we have to repeat it for you!
