AW match is flawed in the context of seasons

We have just matched our fourth +100/-20 or so opponent in a row. Alliances that started with a much lower AW rating get to have matches where for example they don't lose with 7 deaths. They can die 30 times and get more points. A lot less piloting to deal with as a whole. Has any thought been given to use the leaderboard to find a matchup? Why say #23 should be matched with #4 is hard to fathom.

    Had we been really bad at AW to start with we'd be higher up in the season. Today is another +107. Great match system. I know MMX was mad about not finding one and they should have been. Any reason we can't find one where we aren't somehow maybe +50 instead of +110, +100, +107...our lowest had been +90. Any explanation for that?
