Can't find any alliances in search

in Bugs and Known Issues
I got kicked from an alliance a few days ago (no idea why, had only been a part of it for a day), but then I went to try and join a new alliance, and no alliances come up in the search. I would like to get this figured out so I can go back to enjoying all aspects of the game.
