Is it better for an alliance to win and explore one battlegroup in AQ or fail two of them?

Lets say 11 people want to participate and we can either do one full battle group that will fully explore and complete the quest, or we can have two groups of 5 and 6 and both groups fail and only partially explore the map. It seems to me the points and prestige from one successful group is better than for two groups that fail, correct?

    Definitely clear 1 battle group. You'll get a map crystal and increase your prestige slightly so your next map you'll get more points from higher prestige. If you fail 2 bgs your prestige will lower giving less points on your next map

    Gotta do the math. With 5 people in a map, there is no way you can drop enough nodes to even make it to the final boss, let alone kill him. I believe you need a minimum of 6 to get to the boss.

    One BG at 100% explore is:
    20k points for the boss kill + 15k points for 100% explore = 35k points

    Two BG's at 50% explore each:
    (0 Boss kill + 7.5k points for explore) x 2 battle groups = 15k points

    The above excludes attack bonus (killing the defender on first try), defenders remaining (if any) or diversity points

    And then if you're looking at the season points side of things, 100% explore of 1 BG has a very good chance of winning which will award an additional 50k points.

    So if you're running 2 wars per week and win half of them, you could be generating 120k points per week.

    All of this is then multiplied by your war tier, so even in a Tier 13 ally you get a 2x multiplier.

    These points compound quickly in the season format.


    At the end of the day, the boss kill will generate the most points in AW. So with that being said, it's better to sacrifice a few percentage points of exploration if it guarantees a boss kill.
