Hero rating dropping when ranking up

in Bugs and Known Issues
When ranking my 4* Wolverine from rank 2 to 3 i noticed that the champion dropped its hero rating (can’t remember how much by) I’ve just ranked him up from 3 to 4 and when ranking him up he dropped from 2387 down to 2337, a drop of 50 points, very frustrating to have this happen twice on 1 champ. Any ideas what’s gone wrong?

    Level him up m8,I don't understand why pi bothers me and you.
