It's actually true: after 12.0, Crit ignore most of the armor already, so Pierce and Pure skill don't really add anything except a small % damage against huge armored enemies, like HB or Colossus.
Before 12.0, crits did more Crit damage multiplier but didn't ignore armor, so we had similar damage but pierce and Pure skill did put a big difference.

Not true. Armor ignore hasn't changed from before 12.0 (testing suggests this and even Miike himself had stated that armor ignore was an absolute amount and not % of opponent armored pre 12.0). Only thing that's changed is probably base armor (by a very slight amount - not enough to have so large a change). Pre 12.0, we ignored the same amount of armor as we do now
