Odd number of shards. How does this happen?

How did I get an odd number of shards? I thought everything was in multiples of 5?

    There are a few things that could knock it off.
    For example: The Chinese new year gifting event gives rewards in multiples of 8

    Okay, I admit it, I do steal a few shards from each and every account including yours, hoping nobody will notice, and if I steal from lots of account, I'll get enough to form hundreds of fully-formed crystals. Good catch, looks like I have to return those shards I steal from you, in 5 minutes time, you'll see your shards no longer appear as odd numbers.

    Haha, just kidding, yeah, mine are odd numbers too, I think like everyone else mention, due to some of those special events. Good luck and cheers!

    I forgot about the Chinese New Year event. Hey Kabam, can I get 1 phc shard, 4 3star shards and 2 4star shards to even these out?

    Because Math....if you multiply everything by 8 you're always going to get even numbers.

    Yeah you get odd number shards from War and other miscellaneous crystals

    And his 4* shards are even... ending in an 8. GASP

    8 + 8 + 8 + 5 = 29 so you can get a 9 and 4* shards are even in the China event. When you get a lot of gifts so you get this Numbers
