Get Nightcrawler to Swashbuckling after ?patch?

Hi! Never been a fan of nightcrawler when he's my enemy. Years ago I did a technique that felt like a bug, the one when he dashes back and then you light attack forcing nightcrawler to change combat mode. That's not working for me, or not the way I remember. I can still (with luck) switch his stance after a couple of tries by attacking his dashback-block animation. But I'm not getting any real luck. Any tips?

    In the meantime, any of you can provide me with a nightcrawler target duel in the 5000-8000 range?
