Downtime during chaos rifts

During the brief server downtime, I was in a tier 2 rift for some shards to do tier 3, and the downtime caused me to get kicked out due to the timer on the rifts, then a couple of days later, I got a message through the mail in game, saying that I should find shards attached to it to repay the rift I was kicked out of, but there were no shards there, and I’m not sure why, please could I get an answer @Kabam Miike
