I know the chat is unreliable at best and I have LINE on my computer for these dungeons, but did find a workaround for emergency use.... if you go look at a friends messages (doesnt actually have to be a message in there) from anyone and then back to the dungeon, in my experience it forces the chat to update current. When you go to do it a second time, pick a different friend. Not convenient at all, but wanted to share my experience on how to get it to update.
