Is SL still the best in LOL?

Just planning on effectiveness of using my 5* generic awaken gem, to star lord or wait to duped him.

Wondering what are some of the disadvantages using awaken 4/55 SL in LOL comparing to some other champs like sparky, blade, medusa etc? Or is he still the best choice for LOL in your opinion?

My intention is just to push through LOL completion, the fun part on using other champs will be considered during 100% LOL run.

Suggestion?

    Definitely a tricky topic, and one I am struggling with as well.
    Benefits
    1. LoL exploration fights will be a lot faster
    2. Contrary to popular opinion, star lord is still useful outside of LoL

    Disadvantages
    1. In terms of completing LoL, awakening star lord is not necessary if you have the 4/55s you mentioned
    2. I'm not one to be concerned with prestige, but Star Lord is pretty low
    3. You will probably want a high sig level
    4. Other than amazing damage output, sl has little utility, and requires a skilled user
    5. he's boring lol

    Why not necessary awakening SL? I thought SL need to be awaken to be strong?

    Why not necessary awakening SL? I thought SL need to be awaken to be strong?

    He does need to be awakened. But what I think he is saying is that you dont need to awaken if you have the other champs you mentioned

    High sig level?... You don't really need high sig level on SL. Even 1 sig level is enough to get the job done.

    SL is a good LOL option by there are so many guys who can get it done. 2 years ago, SL was the only way to clear. Now you have Proxima Midnight, Hela, Hyperion, Medusa, Gwenpool, Archangel, Blade, and SESM. SL is becoming obsolete. Because these other champs (save for Proxima) don't rely on high combos. IMO SL can justify a class gem. But he is not worth a generic. He lacks any reliable utility and is not very useful in AQ or AW.
