Chaos Crystal Shards

Has there been any information about what would happen with the leftover Chaos Crystal shards from the chaos rift event?

I was expecting them to be converted into PHC shards or something but maybe my expectations were too high.

They haven't said anything about planing on converting them. Sucks that they haven't been planning on converting much recently if would help solve a few problems.
