Gold Rewards Arenas

I have noticed that lately playing arenas rewards you 0 gold or a negative balance. In 4* arenas the reward equals to the cost and in 5* arenas you lose 100 gold as the final reward for a perfect series is 100 gold instead of the 300 that you used to earn. Why this change with the cronic gold issues everyone has?
