Parried while doing heavy attack?

I was fighting AW boss Medusa with ghost rider. I used my sp3 to take all of her furys away and thus her living strands auto block. I got a heavy attack in immediately after, but some how he got parried while doing the heavy attack...is this a bug? Am I missing something here?

    there is a mastery called stand your ground and it gives a chance to block a heavy attack and basically parry it

    Blitz, I have that mastery and no it doesn't cause parry. It never has for me.

    Yes, it does and always has caused parry

    You can also do this yourself if you time it right.
