But Disney bought the fox studios
The deal has not been final. A new competitive company
(idk remember the name, but they own the rights to DreamWorks) has offered to pay more than Disney and are attempting to buy the X-Men and Fantastic Four rights. We won't know the final deal till the end of the year, or maybe longer.
First, all mutants are the property of Fox.
Second, the spiderverse is property of Sony.
Third, what does film rights have to do with the game?
Marvel tends to not promote heros that they do not control the film rights to. They killed off F4 in the comics a few years back, and controlled the release of xmen toys for awhile. They always resurface but just not as promoted as before

My understanding was the deal was done barring details and final approval, but that approval itself could take until the end of this year.
Edit: I shouldve done some research on the recent news. I think disney ends up with it, and a vote has been called for July 10th to approve it. We'll see if/when disney raises their offer

While true that Marvel doesn't actively promote characters they don't own film rights to, that hasn't stopped Kabam from adding those characters into the game. Even taking non mcu movies into account, Kabam has three months of events to fill between Ant man and Venom, with the FF return to comics in August. Is it really a stretch to think there might be an FF related August/September event?
Marvel singled out the FF as someone they would not cross promote via comics, toys, etc. That extended to some of the games as well. I hope they join soon...a monthly EQ with Doom and Doom-Bots could be a good event.

No, its not a stretch. But on a scale of how marvel restricts franchises, Avengers they do everything with, Spiderverse they have deals in place, Xmen they limit, but don't totally restrict, F4 is probably the most restricted. And Kabam actually has to consult with Marvel on who they add.
