Never dupe a 4* skill champ

It's possible? I play since 18 month and i never dupe a 4* skill champ from a crystal, i can dupe my champ only by use the 4* skill gem. Anybody else have the same problem? Is a little annoying because i have to rank up unduped champ to not waste my t4cc of skill class (i have full inventory).
