Gift potions

Can I have a query on the gift of potions? I chat on the global and ask help for energy refile and somebody friend me so I accepted it. This player sends me more than I need after he asks few questions. Now on my Paranoid Mind, I did not use those potions yet. IF I USED THOSE POTIONS IN GOOD FAITH NOT KNOWING THAT HIS/HER UNIT IS LEGITIMATE OR A HACKED UNIT. I don't like to be ban because of using the potion. HE/SHE did not sell it to me. CAN I USE the potions? Pls advice.
