To be honest, it just takes a bit of practice to Evade his L1. It's got a range on it. After you get the hang of it, it's easy. If the game doesn't lag the Evade, that is.

It ia active during the entire Fight. Whether the Icon is present or not. Read the Node. For the record, I was commenting on the subject while it was being discussed.

@drowsyhero34 is right that it should be clearer in the node description

This isn't our first time encountering 3.0 though.

This is not the first time that we’ve seen power sting 3.0. I don’t ever remember it being active instantly. Only if you got stung… Regardless of that, power sting is supposed to hit you once when you use a special but it’s dealing a new Sting every hit… Blade SP one gets stung on the initial hit, again on the first throwing star and again on the third… Same with ghost rider…?

And in the description it says power sting LINGERS forever... How can you get “stinged” without being stung..ed...?

I’m not saying he’s all that difficult to beat. Plenty of practice with an enhanced L1 from AQ. Just doesn’t seem like 3.0 is working like I remember that’s all

When I fought him I used GP and when he was close to his Sp1 I would parry and then heavy attack, it will toss him far enough back to bait it out.

This is explained good enough imo.
The part with “lingers forever” can’t really be explained better than how it is.

Just evade YJ's sp1 whenever he reaches 1 bar of power. YJ's sp1 is ALOT EASIER to evade than his sp2. I'm glad his sp1 is unblockable and not his sp2. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Kabam is kind and generous in the setting. In fact, like someone pointed out, they put unblockable sp1 + power sting all the way + true strike etc to make it hard and for non skillful players revive maybe inevitable.

In regards to op discussion, the power sting doesn't always show. It's like the visual bug with ghost rider where you launch his heavy and the reg3n doesn't show but the Regen works. If you use the blade villain synergy, you'd definitely not see it, doesn't mean launching specials won't kill you, As for sp1, it's the distance, As long as you're one dash back away from him, you can fully evade it. If you're directly in front of him, you'd get stung by the third beam.

    Use rogue or blade.

Rogue will insta shrug off the stun if you have max limber, blade just parry block him till you have above two bars of power then he too will shrug it off instantly.

But never trigger a special unless you rock blade plus ghost rider and the power sting doesn’t trigger

anyone that can’t evade YJ L1 ( lagg / buggs not including) does not belong in uncollected, there I said it!

If im evading YJ SP1 from close range, its always the very last tick that gets me. evading from a longer range is obviously no problem.

Archangel works best for me. Do heavy. Block often to inflict many poison to eat away yellow jackets HP and do heavy for toxin

I DO agree that it was NOT clear that "Permanent biosting" meant "active biosting from the start". How hard is it to make the description "start the match with permanent biosting active"?

I assumed when i read it the first time that it meant IF you got stung then it would be permanent and last the the rest of the match.
To evade YJ I do double evade back. It seems much easier to evade further away then when close by.

AA did the job for me but I didn't get to fire off a special and not get stung as some mentioned, even with Neurotoxins going.
Blade also did well without using specials.

I don't think so. This doesn't indicate at ALL that the match starts with it active but instead we are left to assume that it works as usual only lasts forever once activated. You get stung and the icon and debuff linger.
It is not hard to describe starting the match and seems vague on purpose.

Are there any champs that can shrug this off? X bones maybe?

Magik recovers the Power Sting damage (if she survives it) as she triggers Limbo with specials. So you will prefer to use Specials with her, rather than get Stunned by any active Power Stings.

Note - I'm not 100% sure this works with SP3, but it does fine with SP1+2.

Unfortunately, class disadvantage doesn't help with this battle.

TO LINGER = to persist/to be active/to last
Lingers forever = lasts forever, meaning power sting lasts from the very first second to the very last second of the game.

I still don't understand what extra explanation people want about it?
Power Sting 3.0 has been here since .. forever. People just need to read the node description, and search in a dictionary if they don't fully understand the meaning of all the words.

Cambridge Dictionary: Linger - to take longer than usual to leave or disappear
English Oxford Living Dictionary: Linger - Stay in a place longer than necessary because of a reluctance to leave / Sped a long time over (something) / Be slow to disappear or die.
Merriam-Webster: Linger - to be slow in parting or in quitting something / to remain alive although gradually dying / to remain existent although often waning in strength, importance, or influence / to be slow to act / to move slowly / to pass (a period of time) slowly.

Not to argue with you, I only came here to see what other ways to beat YJ since I use Nightcrawler and that helps me even though I do need a few revives at times but to reply to your "definitions", tell me where in those three definitions I found online does it state that linger is the same as "start with/ begin with"....in the context of this game "start off with this effect and stay forever".

We understand that it has been a thing for a while now, but the OP's question is still valid. Only because some of us got used to it because we weren't aware that the effect starts at the beginning of the battle, you don't even have to be hit. We understood about the "lingering forever" effect but we weren't aware of it happening from the second the battle starts. That's what they should put. I honestly don't care anymore now that I've battled him a few times I just had to reply to your definition of linger.

I destroyed him with Gwen and fully evaded his sp1 5 times that match... Just dash back and give ur self some space as soon as he starts to throw it dash back and u don't get hit 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody say this lol. His second special is a very straightforward evade Where as his first takes a bit of planning.

I have to admit being mildly bamboozled the first run. Did have a good laugh off of it though after looking mighty stupid at my phone for a couple seconds after starting a special and one-shotting myself.

I went in blind though, as I regularly do, and no, that is not a smart thing in UC, but c’est la vie...

When reading going back in, I was like ‘ah.. makes sense now.’
From then, evade fest and no more specials. Found him to be worse than Ghost though.
